Are you familiar with electric bicycle installment plans? How does it work? Do I need to pay interest? Do I need a guarantor? What’s the difference between buying an ebike full cash vs buying ebike installment plan vs renting an ebike? If you are at this stage; you probably have had riders around you introducing how they have the ebike. Or probably have an ebike in mind that you want to consider purchasing.
Singapore LTA regulations for ebike requires all units to be Orange tagged and sealed; signifying compliance to the local safety regulations. You might also have came across the term “blue tag” ebikes. So what really are your options?
Today we are specifically only looking at Orange tagged ebikes in Singapore since blue tags are no longer in production.
Electric Bicycle Cost in Singapore: A Reality Check
Before we dive into the world of installment plans, let’s get our head around a range that you are considering. Here are some categories that you should consider:
Used ebikes – Ranges from as low as $400 up to $1,200. Used ebikes or refurbished ebikes are pre-loved units that we have taken in from another rider. The condition ranges with the price but our bare minimum require for used ebikes are to be non-electrical modified; and of working condition. These units are taken in and our technicians are required to run a battery load test and do a replacement ebike maintenance package before it can qualify to be in our catalogue. The inventory of these ebikes vary and fluctuates.
New ebikes (Delivery) – For delivery ebikes we cater this category to be between $1,500 – $2,500 either in the large battery capacity range or if they belong to the sturdy ebike category and acceptable pricing with 2 batteries. Ebikes like Jimove MC Pro ebike, Drive Plus ebike and Ullmax Delivery 16 ebike.
New ebikes (Recreational) – For recreational ebikes, riders are mostly looking at portability or cruising ebikes. Cruising ebikes are those modeled after mountain bikes and good posture for road usage like the Snapcycle Roadmaster ebike, and Honbike. While smaller portable units are like Alps ebike. They range from $1,800 – $3,500.
Once you’re done with these considerations, the next question will be – how would you like to pay for your ebike?
